Customer reviews consistently highlight the delicious brisket, which has been described as "moist and tender with that bark only a barbecue expert could create." When paired with their flavorful sauces, the brisket isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience. Tacos also shine here, with breakfast options featuring carne guisada and hearty potato and egg combinations—proof that this BBQ haven knows how to please any palate, irrespective of time of day.
One review noted the incredible value found in their lunch specials, like the brisket sandwich or quarter chicken, which many find too good to pass up. At just $8.50 for a meal that includes two sides and a drink, patrons often find themselves recommending it to friends in the area.
The involvement of flavors extends beyond traditional BBQ with delightful additions such as perfectly crunchy fried okra and inspired breakfast tacos. One dish that caught my attention was the unexpected pork chop taco, reported to feature an entire pork chop, delivering a generous bite in every taco.
Among the glowing reviews, one tale stands out—a customer who had the 3 meat platter was overwhelmed not only by the generous portions but also by the quality of the pork ribs that "fell off the bone" and left a lasting impression. Bbq chicken and the brisket are delicious. The prices are way more reasonable than all the other bbq restaurants near DT. My suggestion to the owner for lunch specials, “Not sure the exact prices but like their brisket sandwich and quarter chicken lunch specials in addition to others on the menu are way too inexpensive. I felt like walking up to the owner and letting him know to raise the price on the lunch specials at least 1.00. But that’s non of my business. 8.50 plus 2 sides and a drink. I highly recommend this place. Support local as well.

We stopped in on our way out of town and we hit the jackpot! This is a very unassuming location on a feeder road that we almost missed! We had amazing brisket, potato and egg, bacon and egg and carne guisada breakfast tacos i believe this is actually a BBQ place that also serves breakfast tacos because we live in Texas!!! I highly recommend stopping here

Great visit, friendly staff and tasty brisket. Healthy portions and very flavorful sauce. Not much to look at, but many of the best spots are unassuming. A definite must stop on the BBQ trail.

Great place for a quick fix either breakfast or dinner. Fast service and nice people. Reasonable price on brisket plate too. Must try!

I have tried almost every BBQ place in Austin and San Antonio Texas. I've even made it to the famous Franklin’s BBQ. A friend at work told me to try this place called "Donns Barbecue." I'm originally from California, so I will admit I don't know every BBQ place in Austin. Not yet. With that said, I ordered a meal from Donn's Barbecue and had the meal delivered to my home. The delivery service was quick and the food came to the house hot and the presentation was excellent. I ordered the 3 meat platter with sausage, moist brisket and pork ribs. I normally don't eat pork ribs too much. I like beef ribs but I wanted to give this place a try. I was surprised at the cost. The 3 meat meal was very reasonable in price and the portions were huge. My first bite of brisket was heaven. The brisket was moist and tender with that bark only a barbecue expert could create. I had to run some errands so I put the pork ribs and the peach cobbler I ordered aside for later. Due to work, I couldn't finish my meal until the next morning. I put the pork ribs into the microwave and wondered if the ribs would be good after keeping them in the fridge overnight. That first bite of the pork ribs, well, I'll just say it was impressive. Dam the meat fell off the bone. The flavor of the pork ribs was off the hook. Somebody knows what the hell their doing in that kitchen. My friend gave me great advice. Donn's Barbecue, you have a new customer. Thank you for a great barbecue meal that didn't break the bank. I'm going to have to try your breakfast next. Great BBQ.

Staff was friendly and the place was clean. The food was seasoned and delicious. I got the 3 meat plate with brisket, ham and sausage with mac and cheese and coleslaw. The price was not too bad either.

They have pretty good food and decent portions, maybe a bit pricey but can't complain there. But Brisket was great, Burger was big , and tacos were tasty and not small. That was 3 meals for the day that were pretty good.

Great little hidden gem! The breakfast tacos are def worth the 2.50!! Def try the pork chop taco! It isn’t on the menu but it’s pretty good, you get a whole pork chop in your taco! I really loved the self serve stuff w the onions, pickles, lemons, salsa and jalapenos! The salsa is really good! I had the bacon and egg taco and my bf had the pork chop taco and a bacon egg and cheese taco. We also had fried okra and it’s some of the best I’ve had !! Very crunchy and super fresh.
